Send it. Scribbles from very young children often come out best, because there's less to get wrong and more room to interpret. What we need is some sense of what it's meant to be.

If we genuinely can't find a subject in it, we'll say so before doing anything, and you won't be charged.

No. Crumples, folds, juice stains, a bit of cereal — all completely fine. We work from what the drawing is, not the state of the paper.

The one thing that helps is light. A photo taken flat on a table near a window beats one taken at an angle in a dim room.

Yes, and they're some of the best results. Busy pages are harder, because the temptation is to tidy them into a sensible arrangement, and tidying is exactly what loses the child's version. We don't tidy.

Those work well and we treat them carefully. Stick figures stay stick figures — we will never turn your child's drawing of your family into realistic people. That's the fastest way to ruin it.

We work from the drawing only. Please don't send photographs of your family for us to work from; we don't want them and we won't use them.

Within 24 hours of you sending it. Usually sooner. If something is going to take longer we'll email you rather than let you wonder.

Print quality, big enough for a poster. It's an ordinary image file — send it to any print shop, upload it to a canvas service, or print it at home. It's yours.

No. This is made to order by a person. It arrives by email within 24 hours — there is no instant download link, and you don't need to wait on the order page.

You do. Print it, frame it, put it on Christmas cards, give it to grandparents. We keep no right to show it publicly unless you've explicitly said yes.

Tell us and we'll do it again. As many times as it takes. If it still isn't right, you pay nothing — there's no form to fill in and we won't argue about it.

The most useful thing you can say is what is wrong: "the eyes are in the wrong place", "she says it's too shiny". Specific beats polite.

Not unless you say we can. It's optional and off by default, and leaving it that way changes nothing about your order.

If you've filmed your child's reaction and want to share it with us, we'd love to see it — but we will ask you again, separately, before anything with your child in it goes anywhere.

No. Both are optional. A first name helps us write a nicer covering note and nothing else. We never ask for a surname.

We keep them so we can resend your illustration if you lose it, and so we can redo it if you come back unhappy. Ask us to delete them and we will, promptly, no questions.

No — and we'd rather say so plainly. The names and ages shown are examples, and the drawings were made to demonstrate what the service does.

When real customers' work appears here it will be with their written permission, and we won't pretend otherwise in the meantime.

One drawing, illustrated, back within a day, redone as many times as it takes, delivered as a print-quality file you own. Three or more at once works out cheaper.

No. You send a drawing, you pay for that drawing. There's nothing to cancel and nothing renews.

Yes, and most people want something physical once they've seen the illustration — magnets, posters, mugs, blankets, enamel pins and a hardback book of a year's drawings.

We only mention it after your illustration is ready. You never have to buy anything beyond the illustration itself.
